Guest Blogger John Williams - The Times Are Changing

What do you want to be when you grow up? This is a question that has plagued most of us, longer than we would like to remember. Things were so simple in earlier generations. You either worked and made a living or you went to school got hired for a job and then worked living according to the level of your education. In our days things aren't so easy, in a generation where Jobs are as scarce as affordable gas. It leaves one to often wonder if growing up knowing what you want to be is even practical anymore. There are numerous examples of people who have done what they thought they were supposed to do to secure a better living but still wound up working minimum wage jobs that do not measure up with their level of education. That is why I find that with the times changing so should our approach to securing our futures. In an age where everyone is easily connected through technology more easily and readily available at the click of a button or tap of a screen it definitely pays to invest in a future that you can create everyday. One that is not dependent on expected factors but rather your own investments in it. So in short follow your dreams as soon as you realize them, mingle with the world, grow your own ideas, be an entrepreneur, start businesses and who knows where in could take you years from now. At least this way the time you are spending developing your future is time spent putting that future in your own hands not at the mercy of jobs that may or may not be available to you after you follow in society's footsteps.
